How to make Swarovski cocktail ring jewellery tutorial

 So, a new idea here.  I have made a jewellery tutorial showing how to make a stunning Swarovski bicone cocktail ring, ideal for weddings, special occasions, prom nights or nights out.  A sparkling dress ring.  Can be made in any colour. 

You will need 37 Swarovski 6mm bicones of your choice. 37 4mm czech round beads complimentary colour, 38 delica seed beads complimentary colour and nymo thread,beading needle size 10 or 12 and sieve back adjustable ring and chain nose pliers.

 STEP 1 - Cut nymo thread about 36" and tie delica seed bead leave 3" tail. Bead through a hole in back of ring sieve plate add one 4mm czech bead,1 6mm swarovski bicone,1 delica seed bead.

 STEP 2 - Go back through swarovski bicone and czech bead into same hole you came up through do NOT go through delica bead.

STEP 3 - it should look like this.  Pull tight as you want your ring to be nice and taut not have all the beads floppy.  You need to pull tight between each set of these beads.

STEP4 - Bead around outside of ring or you could start from the middle if you prefer i like to do outside to get those beads as tight as i can then pack in the rest.  It does get hard to see the holes as you work into the centre.  


When you have gone through all holes you will need to secure on back of ring by weaving in and out of beads few times and tying off.  Then attaching the sieve ring to the base is fiddly, the trickiest bit.  I use long chain nose pliers to bend 4 little prongs on the back over carefully.

Just trying out new craft and jewellery display in cream and red. I did have black veleur fabric on my tables but have gone for a much lighter look. Some photos taken at home and some at a friend's workplace this Thursday. I now need all red jewellery boxes as i have loads and loads of black to use up but can't afford to change the whole lot.

Will get there in 2012! patience patience patience

Little Red Robin Mini treasury

So, today i have achieved something different. I have been to the Craft Blog UK site and looked up how to do a mini treasury. Initially i have done my own items in my folksy shop but now it means i can blog and create Folksy Friday blogs and show off Folksy's talented people. Hoorah.

Craft time with the children

Well, i've been to Hobbycraft and my son chose letter E for his name to decoupage. There was lady in entrance decoupaging a huge giraffe with pretty turquoise floral paper. Not quite his cup of tea so he chose army camoflauge paper to cover his letter.

My daughter chose a jewellery box treasure chest makeover pack. She was happily singing and humming as the glitter and glue went everywhere.

Well, next week its their school summer fair and as a member of the PTA i am taking along colourful glitter butterfly beads and acrylic beads for stretch bracelet making,football match attax cards crammed into a huge jar for guess the number and the winner gets them all (very popular with the boys) and i am taking my badge machine so they can make keyrings or magnets with some digital collage sheets i have too. I think i am more excited than the children!

New packaging for Little Red Robin

Hooray, i have ordered new jewellery boxes for Little Red Robin which came this afternoon and i am really pleased with them. Lovely poppy red boxes. Also have new business cards.

Just showing an item with the new boxes. Do you like them? Thought colour would be good for valentines and xmas too and they go with Little Red Robin theme.
