Swarovski Butterfly Wedding Pendant

This year i've come away from beaded jewellery and started doing more metalwork and plan lots of new things along those lines but i still love creating delicate beaded items too in particular sometimes woven jewellery.  This swarovski butterfly wedding pendant i created from a pattern and it took me an evening to figure out how to do it.  But i am a determined little person so eventually 'twas created.  It is super sparkly delicate and feminine.

I have lots of swarovski crystals at home and think i will make a woven circle pendant of crystals next as they were quite popular at jewellery events last year.

Hanging from a good quality diamond cut sterling silver snake chain. I have oxidised the names to patina and make them stand out.

This one is for a friend's 50th shhhh don't tell her its a surprise for Friday.

The pendants can take up to 20 characters including the centre stops.

Mixed metal dog tag pendant

Today i've made a mixed metal dog tag pendant using a copper tag which i hammered heavily and oxidised heavily then buffed back.  I added a sterling silver strip stamped it with word LOVE oxidised it and attached to sterling silver chain.

I quite like the way it has turned out, rustic and earthy look quite different and eyecatching.

We will be adding more mixed metal to our website soon.

NEW WEBSITE FINALLY

Well finally i've managed to set up Little Red Robin Jewellery website of our very own - woohoo.

It will be a work in progress as we have lots of new ideas to incorporate, just cant do it all at once.  If you have time do take a look.

My particular favourite part is my jewellery forum where people can chat or ask questions which i will do my best to answer or add links to answers if i don't know!

Thank you

COPPER HAMMERED DISC EARRINGS

Hammered oxidised copper discs have been attached to handcrafted sterling silver earwires to create an earthy rustic piece of jewellery.

I have managed to find time to start using my doming and dapping tools and have lots of plans for some new fancy metal design stamps i have too.

My next project will be a family tree stamped bookmark using monogram style and hammered frame, i am thinking of making it really pretty and feminine.

I will post it here when designed.

Mum heart stamped pendant

Today i am featuring a new pendant i have made a mixed metal pendant of copper and silver, perfect for mothers day.

I domed a copper offset circle and sterling silver blank to make a mini "locket" style then hung a red swarovski heart dangle in the centre. I also stamped MUM and oxidised with liver of sulphur. I really like this design, its quite eyecatching and striking so will probably use this to create other designs too.

You could stamp NAN or your initials mine are JAG instead 3 letter max on this pendant with this type of lettering fancy script.

Let me know your thoughts on it?

Via Flickr:
I have used a copper offset circle domed it and stamped Mum in fancy script font and oxidised with liver of sulphur and also domed sterling silver disc the other way and hung a red swarovski crystal from center for a stunning pretty "locket" style pendant. Could be adapted with NAN or your initials JAG 3 character max on this mixed metal pendant.

dolphin turtle starfish copper bracelet sea inspired

I have just listed in our Folksy Jewellery and Gift shop this solid copper oxidised turquoise charm bracelet.

Although i originally started my jewellery journey with beaded necklaces i am finding metalwork and metal stamping techniques lots of fun and have started making oxidised jewellery more often to create unusual designs.

This bracelet has been oxidised with liver of sulphur and all beads wirewrapped for security. I used turquoise howlite and amber and turquoise crackle glass beads and then made copper charms from copper sheet metal and stamped them with dolphin, sea turtle and starfish and hammered the other 3.

Quite a bit of work goes into making these rustic style bracelets but they look gorgeous at the end.

PATIENCE Is my top tip for the day.
