THE MEMORY TREE BABY LOSS UK WEBSITE

I have not blogged for absolutely ages as i have been very busy over the last couple of months.

My main focus has been with The Memory Tree a new UK site specialising in handmade keepsakes, gifts and jewellery for families who have lost a child.

There are lots of useful information and contacts too and digital DVDs can also be obtained for a very reasonable price.

Helen is the creator of The Memory Tree and her care and attention to detail can be seen throughout the website.

Please do take a look for yourself and support The Memory Tree.

Thank you

COPPER NAPKIN RINGS

These sleek glossy copper napkin rings were a request from our website from a customer who asked for a contemporary style of napkin ring for his grown up children.

I suggested using copper or brass as an alternative for silver which is used widely and changed the shape to modern curved look leaving the names to stand out nicely in the middle.

I actually rather like these myself and am thinking the shape would look great as a thick wide contemporary cuff bracelet too with some text or stampings on. I would have to size it differently for wrists.

Watch this space!

LEATHER WRAP BRACELETS

So, a while since my last post as i've been busy with our Folksy,Etsy and own website orders.

But i have managed to make some leather wrap bracelets using gemstones and unusual clasps which i love.  I've been meaning to make these a few months but not had time.

I plan making myself one i fancy gold leather with all small 4mm copper rounds metallic look.  Copper looks great in sunshine.

Here are ones i've made already.  Available in our Folksy shop

A moonstone with white leather single strand adjustable leather bracelet with cute elephant clasp.

A double strand red coral gemstone with pale tan leather wrap bracelet and pebble clasp.

And, a garnet gemstone with gold metallic leather and pale pebble clasp.

Au revoir for now.

NAME ON A RING

Here in Bristol we have been busy with our name on a ring jewellery.

Some people like names on the inside of a ring like a secret message on sterling silver or copper or on a bracelet and others on the outside a name, nickname or a meaningful word like joy, believe, love,be happy.

We plan to make more toe rings, hand rings with names on rings in the future.  Here are a few we have made in the past.  You can custom order some or create your very own ideas from our website by looking at toe rings and hand rings.  We also stamp names, family names or childrens names on sterling silver discs and can customise these too.

So, shown above are some of our toe rings, and our family tree of life pendant which can be stamped in this font or if more letters are required a very pretty handwritten font.

That reminds me i keep meaning to make a toe ring for myself just havn't quite decided what to use next.  I quite like the hammered ones but wouldn't mind something quirky too.

MACRAME BRACELETS

So, my sister Liz has made a small number of macrame bracelets but has used sterling silver beads corrugated, shiny and laser in 4mm and 6mm sizes and teamed them up with different coloured waxed cord.

These are proving quite popular and i think are ideal as a summer everyday wear piece of jewellery which is casual yet striking.  They are all fully adjustable so fit any wrist.

Since typing this blog the lilac and pink bracelets have sold, but my sister may well make more of these lovely bracelets.

Enjoy the summer !

Today i have finally completed my personalised baby christening gift set and i am quite pleased with how it has turned out.

Ideal gift for new mums or as a christening keepsake gift to be treasured for years to come.

So many mums receive tonnes of baby grows and outfits and accessories but this new baby giftset is designed to give to mum and dad a lovely keepsake. I have made a 3 page book from silver sheet metal aluminium stamped up with alphabet blocks and silver teddy charm and a baby bookmark with all details of their new arrival finished with a little 3d silver plated buggy hanging from the ribbon.

The baby gift can have pale blue or pale pink ribbon depending on sex of the new babe.

Copper Bird Earrings Metal Stamped

Hi there

I've been ultra busy last month with family and work.

But, i've managed to make 2 pairs of copper earrings today this wet bank holiday monday!

I teamed sterling silver handcrafted earwires with copper discs to create owl earrings and song bird earrings.  They look so cute.

Available in our folksy shop are the owl earrings and soon to follow flying over will be our song bird earrings too.

As i made these i thought actually i could have made them into lockets instead of earrings but may do that for some future jewellery in sterling silver.

Ta ta for now.

Personalised wedding napkin gift

Metal stamped monogram napkin rings have been made by Little Red Robin.

These napkin rings are made from silver aluminium sheet, cut, shaped, filed, sanded and metal stamped with fancy font for wedding elegance.

I used bubble texture on the metal to frame the initials of bride and groom and hand stamped place and date of wedding of the couple.

These can be customised with hammered texture instead of bubble texture and make a lovely customised wedding gift.

They are available on our folksy shop for purchase and customisation.

METAL STAMPED GIFTS AND COPPER JEWELLERY

I have been extremely busy this last month with our website taking custom orders then custom custom orders which is what i call orders where people have seen an item on our website then redesigned their own off of it. Its nice though as they all have their own ideas too so it sets off new ideas in your head. If only there were more than 24 hours each day i sigh. Anyway, this is a short gallery of some of our new items in our etsy shop too at the moment for you to see. Enjoy Jenny x

Personalised gift tag copper butterfly

copper stamped tag by greensladejenny
copper stamped tag, a photo by greensladejenny on Flickr.
I have made a lovely keepsake gift tag which consists of a solid copper butterfly which has been stamped with a message around the perimeter and spiral swirls in the centre of the butterfly.

I can stamp up to 50 characters including spaces on these butterfly gift tags.

I will be making star gift tags tomorrow and then will have hearts, butterflies and star copper gift tags with names or messages able to be stamped.

They are now available to buy in our Folksy shop copper-stamped-message for £3.50 with £1.00 postage and packing.

I think they make a lovely unusual and striking gift tag which will make someone feel very special.

sterling silver macrame bracelet

New to our folksy shop is this adjustable hippie style macrame bracelet. I love this my twin sister Liz made a few and has some in tigers eye, sterling silver with different colours of waxed cord.

I've suggested also to her to create sterling silver discs with names or words in the middle so she is currently making one of those too.

These are lovely for summer time with jeans and tops for casual looks.

A customer recently asked me to create some aluminium metal napkin rings for her with family names on which i have done and also requested a set of bird, heart, flower and star stamped napkin rings.

I think they've come out really nice and look great on a dinner table. I have over 65 design stamps and can't make examples of them all but plan making christmas ones and wedding ones soon too.  Available from our folksy shop www.folksy.com/shops/littleredrobin customised by you.

Copper Wrap Ring Stamped and Patterned

copper wrap ring by greensladejenny
copper wrap ring, a photo by greensladejenny on Flickr.

Just an update from Little Red Robin. I have created this lovely rustic contemporary chunky ring with copper and have wrapped it with a message "the best things are free" around the ring and put a spiral pattern on the bottom of the ring.

I love copper it has a glorious colour and more unusual looking. This has created a striking comfortable to wear ring in a size P.

Let me know your thoughts on it.

This is my daughters hand modelling it as mine are more wrinkly!

WEDDING PLACE CARDS PERSONALISED

Weddings, weddings, spring is here brides are planning their big day.  With this in mind a lovely lady contacted me via my website a few weeks ago and asked if i could make some informal metal wedding place cards to hang from vintage crystal flower bud vases.

A lovely idea so we planned, we discussed and came up with this:-

She will be putting her own ribbons around the name tags and hang from crystal vases but you could tie them round wind glasses or round napkins on dinner plates.  They are now available at http://www.littleredrobinjewellery.co.uk formal or informal style.  The great thing is they double up afterwards as name keyrings for your guests to make great party favours too thus saving the bride and groom valuable mortage or honeymoon spending money! Just putting them straight onto a split keyring you have.

7th wedding anniversary and copper

I love working with copper, it has a beautiful colour.  I have just started thinking of new metal stamped gifts for special occasions and have several ideas in the pipeline so to speak.

Added today to our website is this 7th wedding anniversary in copper as copper is the metal representing this anniversary, but you could have it in silver aluminium or use same idea for any special occasion such as fathers day, mothers day, birthdays, valentines, christmas greeting, love poem etc etc - you get my drift.

They make a lovely keepsake and are a credit card size so fit in your wallet or purse and every time you take money out you are reminded of your message!

Mixed Metal Jewellery

I've neglected my blog over the last month just havn't had time.  I have been adding new items of jewellery to our wowthankyou shop as it only had 5 on there so i thought it about time to put more on and see what happens! will let you know on that.

Today i did manage to make 3 items of jewellery a celtic knot necklace mixed metal

, mixed metal hammered copper and silver "i wish" dandelion stamped pendant and my favourite although i probably would not wear them myself but i like look of them is some vintaj brass dove bird stamped with an olive branch and i added rustic border and riveted a stacked flower onto the bottom.  Kind of quaint and whimsical look .

So my plans for next month are to teach myself to tube rivet, possibly made a stacked riveted and stamped ring and soldering!!! i have the torch hee hee.  My sister does all this already but hasn't got time to show me at present so i am you tubing and googling it all.

Will show you all my efforts soon - promise.

Swarovski Butterfly Wedding Pendant

This year i've come away from beaded jewellery and started doing more metalwork and plan lots of new things along those lines but i still love creating delicate beaded items too in particular sometimes woven jewellery.  This swarovski butterfly wedding pendant i created from a pattern and it took me an evening to figure out how to do it.  But i am a determined little person so eventually 'twas created.  It is super sparkly delicate and feminine.

I have lots of swarovski crystals at home and think i will make a woven circle pendant of crystals next as they were quite popular at jewellery events last year.

COPPER HAMMERED DISC EARRINGS

Hammered oxidised copper discs have been attached to handcrafted sterling silver earwires to create an earthy rustic piece of jewellery.

I have managed to find time to start using my doming and dapping tools and have lots of plans for some new fancy metal design stamps i have too.

My next project will be a family tree stamped bookmark using monogram style and hammered frame, i am thinking of making it really pretty and feminine.

I will post it here when designed.

Mum heart stamped pendant

Today i am featuring a new pendant i have made a mixed metal pendant of copper and silver, perfect for mothers day.

I domed a copper offset circle and sterling silver blank to make a mini "locket" style then hung a red swarovski heart dangle in the centre. I also stamped MUM and oxidised with liver of sulphur. I really like this design, its quite eyecatching and striking so will probably use this to create other designs too.

You could stamp NAN or your initials mine are JAG instead 3 letter max on this pendant with this type of lettering fancy script.

Let me know your thoughts on it?

Via Flickr:
I have used a copper offset circle domed it and stamped Mum in fancy script font and oxidised with liver of sulphur and also domed sterling silver disc the other way and hung a red swarovski crystal from center for a stunning pretty "locket" style pendant. Could be adapted with NAN or your initials JAG 3 character max on this mixed metal pendant.
